چکیده

Current flood risk management is based on statistical models and assessments of the occurrence over a given time period, although with very short measurement periods, usually following catastrophic events. Ongoing monitoring basic hydrological (river-water level streamflow) climate data are basis for sustainable water long-term control planning. The lack has proven to be particularly negative during this period global change, when non-seasonal flooding (during summer) becoming increasingly frequent, resulting damage greater. aim study was analyse possible use tree ring width chronologies trees growing in floodplain areas reconstruct hydrodynamic variables streamflow). analysed influence climatic growth narrow-leaved ash (Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl) Sava River basin. results indicate significant potential tree-ring summer streamflows (R2 = 0.45). These can serve develop series river, thereby enabling better insight into its spatial temporal dynamics goal more successful, areas.

Reconstructions of Soil Moisture for the Upper Colorado River Basin Using Tree-ring Chronologies

Soil moisture is an important factor in the global hydrologic cycle, but existing reconstructions of historic soil moisture are limited. We used tree-ring chronologies to reconstruct annual soil moisture in the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB). Gridded soil moisture data were spatially regionalized using principal components analysis and k-nearest neighbor techniques. We correlated moisture se...

First record of round goby, Neogobius melanostomus (Pallas, 1814) in the Sava River, Croatia

In June 2011, 34 specimens of round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) were caught at three different locations in the Sava River in Croatia, which is a first record of this invasive species in Danube tributaries in Croatia. Size, structure and condition of populations indicate that the species is well adjusted to its new habitat and that further range expansions are highly likely.

Effect of N and NPK fertilizers on early field performance of narrow-leaved ash, Fraxinus angustifolia.

The effect of fertilization in the first growing season on early survival and growth of narrow-leaved ash (NLA) (Fraxinus angustifolia ssp. oxycarpa) was evaluated throughout the first 3 years of growth in Adapazari, Turkey. A randomized complete block design with four replications was established to investigate fertilization effects. Granular N urea [46%, (NH2)2CO, NH2-N] and NPK (15/15/15%; N...

A Tree-Ring-Based Reconstruction of Delaware River Basin Streamflow Using Hierarchical Bayesian Regression

A hierarchical Bayesian regression model is presented for reconstructing the average summer streamflow at five gauges in the Delaware River basin using eight regional tree-ring chronologies. The model provides estimates of the posterior probability distribution of each reconstructed streamflow series considering parameter uncertainty. The vectors of regression coefficients aremodeled as draws f...

Revising midlatitude summer temperatures back to A.D. 600 based on a wood density network

Annually resolved and millennium-long reconstructions of large-scale temperature variability are primarily composed of tree ring width (TRW) chronologies. Changes in ring width, however, have recently been shown to bias the ratio between lowand high-frequency signals. To overcome limitations in capturing the full spectrum of past temperature variability, we present a network of 15 maximum latew...
